eBus is moving!

eBus is moving to the new Nelson Bus Hub on Friday 19 December!

The Nelson Bus Hub is due for final completion in early 2026, but we are thrilled to announce it will be open to the public before Christmas.

All eBus services will be active from the Nelson Bus Hub on Halifax Street from the first 7am run on Friday 19 December.

This is an important next stage in upgrading Nelson and Tasman’s public transport system following the launch of the new eBus service in August 2023. The next planned improvement in 2027 is the Motu Move project that will replace the current Nelson Bee Card with contactless payment via a debit card or iPhone though Apple or Google Pay and make our eBus service even more convenient.
The new Nelson Bus Hub brings onto one location the councils’ eBus service with the InterCity and the tourist bus services to the Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes and Golden Bay.
The move to Millers Acre is also part of our strategy to make the central city more pedestrian and shopping-friendly and focusing heavy traffic around the ring roads.

The Bus Hub is also complementary to the Arts Hub that is being developed in the Millers Acre northern building for the Arts Development Agency, which is due for completion mid-2026 and the existing DOC information centre.
